Kala means the 'Death', Sarpa means 'the Snake (Dragon's Head or Rahu)' and Yoga means 'the combination'. Kalasarpayoga is an unfortunate planetary combination. It's a kind of 'Nagapasha' means 'Snake's knot'. The ancient sages said, ''The person who eats up or steals the money or belongings of Brahmins. They generally suffer from this dreadful combination of planetary bondage and sufferings.''
Kalasarpayoga (a unfortunate planetary combination) is formed when all the 7 planets sum up between Rahu (Snake's head) and Ketu (Snake's Tail). This yoga is considered to be harmful because all the planets are surrounded by the Snake, means Nagapasha (Snake's knot). It creates hurdles, typical problems and delays in one's life. When all the 7 planets are on the same side of Rahu and Ketu and not a single planet is on the other side; complete Kalasarpayoga is formed. But don't be afraid. If benefic planets are situated in your Horoscope it proves not to be so harmful.
In the Puranas (Eighteen Indian scriptuires orated by Maharishi Veda Vyasa) there are twelve snakes which are considered to be the divine and most powerful snakes in the universe, namely-

REMEDIES FOR GETTING RID OF THE AFFECTS
OF
KALASARPAYOGA
(A) Whosoever is having this bad combination of planetary bondage in one's horoscope should adore Lord Krishna (Hari) or Lord Siva (Har) or Bhairavanath (a reincarnation of Siva). It is must; because according to the ancient sages, ''The person who eats up or steals the money or belongings of Brahmins. They generally suffer from this dreadful combination of planetary bondage and sufferings.''
Means this planetary bondage is the result of our misdeeds done by us in our previous birth, which cannot be forgiven without the blessings of almighty gods. So one should recite one of these Mantras everyday, not less than 108 times-
1. Aum Namo Bhagwate Vasudevaye

2. Aum Namo shivaye

3. Aum Hrin Bum Batukaye Aapdudharnaye Kuru kuru Batukaye Hrin

(B) One should bring a silver snake pair at home and keep it at the place of worship in a silver plate. Then start on any wednesday adoring them with perfoming Namaskara and offering them some fruit and fragrance after bathing the silver snake pair with milky water for 94 days regularly. On the last day offer that silver snake pair forever to the Ganga river or to any Siva temple.

(C) One should wear a joint ring of Gomeda (Hessonite) and Lehsuniya (Cat's eye) in silver on any wednesday between 8.00 am to 11.00 am. It should be worn in the right hand's middle finger, if male; and in the left hand's middle finger, if female.
